Rules
For 2 to 4 players
Age 5 to 5,000
Welcome to Indaria, a magical world of wizards, dragons, and mystery! The kobolds of Indaria are a small race of horned people that live in dark, hidden places, learning the secrets of the world. The different tribes of kobolds come together at their Meeting Place once every twenty years to choose a new King, in a great race across the entire land! The first of the kobold champions to reach the Kingstone Ruby will be crowned the new King of all the kobolds!
OBJECT
Be the first player to reach the Kingstone Ruby by reaching the end of the path that winds through Indaria.
CONTENTS
1 Gameboard, a map of Indaria
4 Mighty kobold warriors
64 Cards
2 Dice
SETUP
* Open up the gameboard and place it on a flat, stable surface.
* Shuffle the cards and place them facedown in a stack within easy reach of everyone.
* Each player picks a Kobold Champion and places it on the space labelled START, at the Kobold Meeting Place on the gameboard.
GAMEPLAY
To determine who goes first, each player rolls a die. The player with the highest number goes first (ties should be re-rolled). Play then passes to the left.
On your turn, roll a die and move your kobold that many spaces forward along the game path. Many things can happen as a result of where you end your movement:
If you land on an empty square, your turn is over.
If you land on a square with the Star symbol, you must draw the top card from the deck and follow the directions on the card immediately. Some cards will direct you to move forward or back along the path. This could cause you to land on another Star square and draw another card, continuing your turn.
If you land on a square occupied by another kobold, you must fight for position on the path! Each player rolls a die. The highest number wins the fight (ties should be re-rolled). The winner stays in the square. The loser must roll a die and move backward that number of spaces along the path. After the fight, if the player whose turn it is has landed on another Event square, he should draw another card and continues his turn. This could happen if he loses the fight and moves backward, or if he pushes another kobold off an Event square when winning a fight.
If you land on a Shortcut square with the Arrow symbol, your kobold has discovered a shortcut! Move along the colored path and stop at the end of the Shortcut. Your turn is now over.
Play as above until one player passes the final square on the board and lands on the Kingstone Ruby. The game is then over, and that player is the new King of the Kobolds - at least until the next race!
